Welcome to Instrument and Science Software Systems Home

Instrument and science software engineers and technologists apply the combined knowledge of computer science, engineering and science to expand and enhance instrument capabilities, science return and discovery.

Cohesive teams with expertise in all aspects of instrument and science system software—flight software, ground software, flight-vs-ground capability trade-off space, modeling and simulation, calibration and test—provide a valued contribution to mission success. Technology development and flight-ready capabilities are provided in support of Planetary, Earth, Astrophysics and non-NASA missions.

Integration of the software development and operations teams throughout the mission life-cycle assures the system engineering of a comprehensive end-to-end- uplink-flight-downlink-analysis-archive- instrument system.
